Hi, I’m Désirée.

Maybe you want to regulate your hormonal cycle. Maybe you are trying to conceive. Or maybe you are already expecting and need help to nourish your body, support during labour, or an extra pair of hands after the baby comes. Maybe you feel like your body is in chaos and you don’t know how to start healing. Whatever it is, I am here to support individuals like you in their journey.

Would you like to know my story?

After obtaining my B.A., I started off as an educator in Eastern China, working mainly with preschool and kindergarten-age children. Since my heart lies with social work and community care, I moved on to a job at an NGO where I would train teachers in underprivileged rural and migrant urban schools. The more I explored the challenges young students faced, the more I realised that the issue did not only stem from how they were being educated. At the SDG Academy I learnt that a nourishing and nurturing environment all the way from preconception to the first 2 years of infant life has the largest impact in early childhood development – and therefore greatly influencing well-being outcomes later in life.

Leaving a country that I considered my home and then switching to a career in nutrition was not easy, but neither is it for many people to conceive. Or go through pregnancy. Or have a non-traumatising birth experience. Or raise a child. Or heal when their body feels like it’s working against them. Everyone deserves support at their most vulnerable, and every new life brought into this world deserves our best efforts at giving them the best possible chance. My goal is making good health and supportive care affordable and accessible to as many people in my community as I can, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, faith, ethnicity or physical ability. Bringing whole foods - specially plants - and herbal medicine into my life has completely changed my health for the better, and I always strive to find the same balance in my clients’ lives. While becoming a nutritionist I helped myself heal from IBS-C and I have been in remission for 2 years. Since graduating, I have supported individuals on the same boat but also with varied health issues - although my practice may seem very specific, I don’t turn away clients who need my help, and will always do my best to find what works for you. Your whole you.
