CHILDCARE
nanny and educator
Before broadening my scope of early childhood development to encompass perinatal wellness, my career was focused on education for young learners. In my teen years and early twenties I worked as nanny, au-pair and tutor; and after finishing my BA, I became a teacher and then a teacher trainer. While I continued doing some childcare and tutoring while studying for my nutrition career, it has been my recent training as a postpartum doula that has deeply prepared me to provide professional care in the first few months of life - for both babies and new parents.
What my experience and training brings:
Professionally trained postpartum doula for newborn and infant care
Former early childhood educator (teacher abroad, not a RECE in Ontario)
Help with transition to solids and baby food preparation from a nutritionist
Familiar with cloth diapering
Trained in infant sleep for 0-5 months of age
First Aid and CPR - Level C - updated in 2023
Vulnerable sector check - updated in 2023
English and Spanish mainly, but French and Mandarin Chinese if needed
Use of childhood developmental materials/toys (please inquire by age)
